Just a quick update here: All markets are pretty quiet this morning, with most traders and investors awaiting the wording of the Federal Reserve statement this afternoon after 2 p.m. Eastern time.
My expectation is that the Fed will be a little bit more hawkish in its statement this month, given the large job gains shown last month – plus the fact that Janet Yellen needs to put on a game face after backing off on another rate hike so quickly a few months ago.
Gold is still acting on its previous sell signal and should soon head lower again. Ditto for silver, and the other precious metals. Their short-term rallies this morning are merely bounces testing resistance.
It’s now time to raise your stop order on your India Fund (IFN) position. By raising the stop price, you will be locking in a gain of 18.8% should IFN shares pull back far enough to trigger the new stop order.
Also, the grain markets have not been acting as bullish as I had hoped given the extreme heat we have experienced over the Midwestern U.S. lately. The hot and dry scenario that I was expecting has not played out in a way that has negatively impacted crops, at least not yet.
Now, the weather forecast is calling for some rain over the next week, which is putting added pressure on grain prices. Next month’s crop report will most likely be the catalyst that sets the next direction for the grain markets. And with crop quality and yield expectations already sky high, a downgrade in either could send grain prices surging higher.
But as some added protection, I think it now makes sense to set a protective stop loss on your Teucrium Corn Fund (CORN) and Teucrium Wheat Fund (WEAT) positions.
Here’s what to do:
For All Members… 1. Cancel and replace your protective good-till-canceled sell stop on all your shares of The India Fund Inc. (IFN) at $18.43. NEW STOP PRICE: $24.85. 2. For all of your shares of Teucrium Wheat Fund (WEAT), place a good-till-canceled protective sell stop at $7.40. 3. For all of your shares of Teucrium Corn Fund (CORN), place a good-till-canceled protective sell stop at $18.03. |
Best wishes,
Larry
